Your Rights Under the FCCPA
Much like the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA) protects consumers from abusive and deceptive debt collection practices exercised by debt collectors and creditors. It essentially codified the federal FDCPA and strengthened it for Florida consumers. The act extends not only to debt collectors and third party debt buyers, but also creditors, as the FDCPA did not extend to the original creditors themselves.
Violations of the FCCPA
